Tips on Choosing a Program

Options can sometimes be overwhelming. The first thing to do is ask yourself a few questions to help narrow down your opportunities. Depending on your goal for going abroad, whether it is to learn a language, a class credit or a job experience, these all factor in deciding what will be best for each individual.

Once you have narrowed down these questions, speak with your study abroad advisor about your options.

Questions to ask:

  • 1. What is my goal when I go abroad?

  • 2. How long do I want to go abroad?

  • 3. When do I want to go abroad?

  • 4. Do I want to go by myself or with a group?

  • 5. Do I want to go where they speak English or another language?
